A piece of shocking news comes to light from the State of West Bengal ahead of assembly elections. The Bengal battleground heats up even more as the Election Commission of India replaces West Bengal Director General of Police (DGP) Virendra. IPS officer P Nirajnayan will be replacing, his senior in two years, Virendra. Virendra was replaced after EC reviewed the poll preparedness in Bengal.
Earlier, The EC had sent a letter to Bengal chief secretary which stated: ‘I am directed to refer to the subject cited and to state that after reviewing the situation of poll preparedness in the state of West Bengal today, the Commission has decided following transfer/posting in the state’.
